Kobe Bryant Day (also called Mamba Day) is a day that is celebrated on August 24 in Los Angeles and Orange County commemorating the life of basketball. Kobe Bryant wanted to be a Laker since he could remember anything about basketball. I would say he definitely lived out his life long dream. Not only did he become a Laker but he arguablely is the 2nd best Laker as well as in the top 5 Lakers All Time. The all-time leading scorer in Lakers history, Bryant was the first guard in NBA history to play 20 seasons. His 18 All-Star designations are the second most all time, and he has the second most consecutive appearances as a starter. Bryant's four NBA All-Star Game MVP Awards are tied with Bob Pettit for the most in NBA history. He gave himself the nickname "Black Mamba" in the mid-2000s
